This page lists the various spreadsheets I've created. All spreadsheets were created using the free OpenOffice software suite (available from http://www.openoffice.org/download/. The software is entirely free and is not shareware, nor does it pester you with pop-ups asking you to purchase. If you like saving money as I do, I highly recommend this as an alternative to Microsoft Office. All sheets are compatible with Microsoft Excel.
Money Minder
The Money Minder is a calendar-based version of the Expense Tracker. First you put in each bill, it's due date or day that it gets paid, and the average amount. You can repeat this for loans and cards which allow you to put in an interest rate as well. Next you enter your pay date, frequency of pay (7- or 14- days), average paycheck amount, and the current amount in your checking account. The Money Minder sheet displays how much money you have available to spend on a day-by-day basis and gets updated automatically every two weeks!
The spreadsheet also has collapsible rows for an abridged view, allows you to make adjustments per date, has a credit card / loan calendar calculator, and also breaks down your funds based on different periods. The Money Minder also allows you to import a second Money Minder file so that you can see combined income and expenses (best for couples or dual-income families). |
Price Comparator
If you're researching different vendors to save money on purchases, this Price Comparator will help calculate prices among different vendors and get you the best deal. You can enter up to 30 products and compare up to 4 vendors. Enter the price of each item and shipping if applicable. The Price Comparator will highlight the lowest-priced item among the vendors, then calculate the total amount of each lowest priced item for each vendor. For a better comparison you can also remove the shipping fee for places like Amazon.com that give you free shipping if your purchases are over a certain amount.
This spreadsheet is practical for major grocery shopping trips, Christmas and holiday gift purchases, comparison shopping for high-end items, or basically any event where you'd like to ensure you're getting the lowest possible price for any item. |
My Scheduler
Another Excel and Open Office compatible spreadsheet, this scheduler allows you to enter over 25 employee names, independent day start and day end times, 15- or 30-minute increments, threshold coverage, and a Time Off request page. The last sheet also displays cumulative hours per employee, per week. I've programmed the sheet so that the fields change dynamically based on the start and end times for each day. This means that no programming is required by the user! |
